Author: In office, pushing the chair around is difficult and it also puts a strain on the neck and back. This can be taken care of by putting chair mats on the floor at the workstations. This will not only reduce the neck and back pain associated with pulling and pushing of chair wheels, but will also protect the floor from wear and tear. Vinyl or glass mats can make a big difference. Each of these materials has its advantages and disadvantages. A vinyl chair mat has cleats on its underside which helps it to grip the floor or carpet better.
The mats are all available in different sizes and varying thicknesses. if you do not want a standard sized mat, then you can get it customized. However, there are many shapes available; round, oval, L- shaped, rectangle, workstation mats.
According to the height of pile, weight, the correct mat should be chosen. a carpet floor requires a heavy weight thicker mat than a hard wood floor. The chair mats also have textured surfaces which can prove to be more effective as they provide some additional resistance. For a beautiful carpet floor, one can even choose a clear vinyl mat which will only enhance the beautiful carpet.
