With the season of Carnival in full swing, it is probably a good time to discuss the different types of penalization that have come from Brasil and that have embellish an instrumental part of Brazilian culture. There are many different types of penalization in Brasil because there have been many different cultures that have shaped the penalization industry in the country. If you are a follower of a karaoke machine, there are plenty of those and the Magic Microphones that accompany the machines to be had because this identify of penalization is rattling popular in the country. The threesome most popular types penalization in Brasil are Afro-Brazilian Hip Hop, bossa nova and samba. Each has their own tale of Brazilian history to tell.
The Afro-Brazilian Hip Hop genre is the most recent of the threesome to embellish a part of Brazilian culture. It is a mix of rhythms from African society and Native Brazilian Amerindic culture. Unlike in the United States, there is no specific segment of the accumulation for which this identify of penalization is intended. In Brazil, all different types of people listen to this kind of music. It has had a lot of impact over the past decade over penalization in other parts of the globe, since the rise of the internet, where people can share rhythms and beats crossways land lines.
The bossa nova genre was founded in the 1950s by Joao Gilberto and is considered by many to be the Latin version of jazz. It was developed and made popular in the more bunk class communities on the coast of Brazil. This identify of penalization was well-liked by the younger crowd, mainly people in their early twenties. Bossa nova also had a major impact on American musicians much as Ella Fitzgerald and modify Frank Sinatra. It has been known since its creation to be a division of the samba genre.
Finally, samba is not only a dance it is a identify of Brazilian penalization as well. Unlike bossa nova, the samba genre developed in slummy areas of the country, called favelas. Also, different bossa nova, samba penalization was influenced by American musicians during and after the 1940s, the World War II era. It is similar to bossa nova in the fact that it has its roots in the same city, which is Rio de Janeiro. It is a rattling fast-paced identify of penalization and is still extremely popular today, especially when it comes to the big Carnival celebration. This genre is known as a fusion between European, mainly Portuguese, and African, mainly Western African rhythms.
Interestingly enough, these are only threesome of the major types of penalization that have come from the society of Brazil. Today, Brazilian penalization is gaining more and more notoriety because of digital mediums that allow penalization to be transferred all over the globe. Also, these threesome kinds of penalization are still influencing other types of penalization in many different parts of the world, because of these genres’ mix of Native Indian, European, and African influences. Chances are, at least five of the songs you listen to in one day can be traced backwards to Brazilian music.
Here is a checklist of tips you must consider when buying an acoustic guitar. These will ensure you don’t buy a dud guitar or one
that’s not suited to you. Save time and money…read on.
- Pick up the guitar and have a good look at it.
- How good is the workmanship?
- Are there any bows or bulges in the guitar body or neck?
- Does anywhere look like the wood will split?
- If it’s a used guitar, how worn are the frets?
- Near the guitar body, are the strings a long way above the fret board? In this case, guitarists will say the ‘action is high’ which can make the guitar louder but also harder to play. A good guitar can be adjusted so ask the salesperson about that.
- Turn the tuning machine heads, are they reasonably sturdy?
- Sit down comfortably and hold it in playing position…does it feel good, kinda like ‘wow, I like this baby’?
- Next, tune the guitar with a tuner.
- Play some chords in different positions on the guitar?
- Play some scales in different positions on the guitar?
- How does it sound? Nice tone or sound for you? Is it how you envisaged having a new guitar would be? Are you EXCITED to have this instrument in your hands?? This is a very personal choice so don’t let anyone get in your ear too much about this. An indigenous Australian friend once said to me that his didgeridoo ‘found him’ not he found it. Think about that…What he meant was that when he was looking for a new didgeridoo, he played many and then one day he tried one and the sound, feeling, everything just told him YES this is the ONE! The same is true of guitars, believe me. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be the only guitar you own but it could be the ‘one’ for blues, or the ‘one’ for folk music.
- Anyway, keep playing the guitar…Are there any buzzing string sounds? If strings are buzzing, then possibly the action is too low (strings too low). As mentioned above, good guitars can be adjusted so ask the salesperson.
- Next really play the guitar pretty hard and then check the tuning. Still in tune?
- Check the tuning of all individual notes at the 12th fret and see if they are the same as 0 fret (important!).
- If you’re happy with all the above points, ask your friend or the salesperson to play the guitar so that you can hear how it sounds. Don’t let their personal view override yours if you are happy with all of the above. You want to hear how it sounds to you, not what’s going on in their world of wants and needs.
Remember to take your time to examine and play any guitar you are seriously considering so that you won’t be disappointed. Print this out for yourself and email it to your friends so that they make the right choices. Hope this helps.
There are basically three ways to scan slides to digital images. Slide Duplicator, scan them yourself with a film scanner or a slide scanning service.
A slide duplicator is a device that attaches to your digital camera’s lens mounts. It allows you to crop in the center and all four sides. When you are finished cropping, your are ready to “digitize” your slides. However, the bad part of the slide duplicator is that it’s not that fast. Sure, it’s ok if you have just a few slides, but if you have hundreds, it can pump out around five slides per minute if you know what you are doing. Also, if you are using anything other than a monitor to view the slides, you will lose some sharpness.
The second one is that you can scan your slides with film scanners. These type of slide scanners has great resolution and can come bundled with Photoshop. I love Photoshop and it can really do a good job cleaning or altering your images. However, the down side of the film scanner (and Photoshop) is if you are on a budget and if you only use it once, it really isn’t worth it. You might go with another plan.
Photo Scanning Services will save you a lot of time and can be finished digitizing your slides in a timely fashion. The companies that convert slides to images are done by professionals and will make your pictures look like it was taken yesterday. On your part, you just need to fill out an order form and send in the slides to the company of your choice. Prices vary and you may want to get online to see what kind of reputations the companies have.
Hip hop dance songs are the most popular form of dance music in clubs right now. However, what exactly makes a good dance song? Is it a catchy hook? Dope lyrics? Here’s the deciding factors for making a hit dance song…
First, the song itself should be unique, even if it is based on samples from other bands (many rap artists have successfully sampled George Clinton, Led Zeppelin and Queen just to name a few). The key to sounding unique is to add your own personal stamp on the song. Take Run DMC’s cover of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way.” While the lyrics and guitar riff didn’t change, Run DMC’s personal style came through on the track.
For hip hop dance songs, tempo is also a deciding factor. Hip hop tracks tend to run between 90- 115 BPM, with dance hits tending towards the higher end of the spectrum. In addition to speed, a quality dance song should be well mixed. All this means is that the listener should be able to hear each instrument individually, without any one piece standing out too much. Think of a high school band: you know the kid who always played too loud and drowned out the string section? A well mixed song can avoid this.
Once the song is properly mixed, it’s time to master the track. This, along with mixing, is what separates a song your buddy put together, and a hot club mix. Mastering essentially smooths the song out and gives it that polished finish (think Dr. Dre beats).
I’ve included a list of hot hip hop dance songs that work in a club or at a party. Before I share it with you, a few points: First, I left out most underground rap in order to keep this list familiar to a larger audience. These are songs most likely to hear in a club. I’ve also listed a few songs from a few years ago, due to the fact that they haven’t been (too) played out.
